Exceptional care and support for children and young people, services tailored to unique needs

Clinical Approach

At NeuroKids, we provide specialist, assessment-led services for children and young people with complex neurological, neurodevelopmental, and psychological needs

How We Work

At NeuroKids, our work is assessment-led, formulation-driven, and evidence-based. We do not offer open-ended or exploratory input. All work begins with a clear clinical question and a defined purpose, whether support is parent-led or professionally commissioned.

Please submit requests via our Request Support pathway.

Parent-Led Pathways

For parent-led referrals, we offer defined assessment pathways with a clear scope, fixed fees, and agreed outcomes. These assessments are designed to clarify a child’s needs, strengths, and areas of difficulty, and to provide practical, developmentally informed recommendations to support decision-making at home, school, or within wider services.

Parent pathways focus on:
  • Structured assessment and formulation

  • Clear, outcome-focused recommendations

  • Supporting families to understand next steps

Therapeutic input is not assumed and is considered only following assessment where clinically indicated.

Case Managers & Professionals

For case managers, solicitors, and other professionals, we provide neuropsychology-informed needs assessments to support rehabilitation planning, care coordination, and medico-legal decision-making.

Assessments apply specialist expertise to:
  • Clarify the nature and functional impact of injury or neurodevelopmental difficulty

  • Identify current and anticipated needs across cognitive, emotional, behavioural, educational and daily domains

  • Inform proportionate, evidence-based recommendations for support and intervention

This work is designed to support care planning, funding decisions, and longer-term outcome monitoring.

Psychological & Therapeutic Input

Following assessment and formulation, recommendations are discussed with families or commissioning professionals. Where clinically indicated, time-limited, goal-focused psychological input may be offered to support the child and their family.

Any ongoing work is:
  • Clearly defined to meet the child's needs

  • Goal focused and targetted

  • Discussed and agreed in advance

  • Regularly reviewed and adapted accordingly

  • Proportionate and aligned with identified needs

We ensure that interventions are clinically focused and meeting the child and families presenting needs.
