Educational Psychology
Our educational psychology input is designed to understand the unique needs of each child and provide targeted strategies to support their development and success. We work closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support.
Support Provided
We collaborate with schools to ensure children receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially. Our services include tailored recommendations, school-based observations, and consultation with teachers to address learning challenges, behavioural needs, and emotional well-being.
We assist in developing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), provide staff training to help schools better understand and support children with diverse needs, and work closely with staff to implement strategies and monitor progress. Additionally, we work with families to reinforce these strategies at home, ensuring consistent support across school and home environments.

Is This the Right Service for My Child?
NeuroKids provides specialist educational psychology input for children and young people with complex learning, neurodevelopmental or neurological needs, where there is a specific assessment question or purpose.

Our educational psychology services are most appropriate when:
-
There are concerns about a learning profile, cognitive abilities, attention, executive functioning or adaptive skills
-
An assessment is needed to understand how a child learns, rather than simply whether they are “behind”
-
Educational psychology is required to inform educational planning, therapeutic intervention or neurorehabilitation
-
There is a clear need for diagnostic clarification or formulation, rather than general advice

For Parent-Led Referrals

We do not provide:
-
EHCP annual reviews
-
EHCP paperwork-only reviews
-
Tribunal assessments or attendance
-
Educational advice without assessment
-
Exploratory consultations where families are unsure what support is required
Before enquiring about educational psychology input, it is important to be clear about:
-
What the main learning or educational concern is
-
What specific questions you want the assessment to answer
-
How the findings will be used (e.g. to guide support, therapy, or specialist provision)
If you are unsure whether educational psychology assessment is the right starting point, you may find it helpful to read our Educational Psychology Assessment & Support Guide for Parents, which explains what our assessments include, fees and what they are designed to inform.

For Case Managers & Solicitors

Where NeuroKids is formally instructed by a case manager or solicitor, educational psychology assessment and consultation may be provided as part of a co-ordinated medico-legal or rehabilitation programme, working alongside the wider multidisciplinary team and tailored to the specific questions set out in the letter of instruction.
Please contact us to discuss your needs.
