A Bit About Me

Dr Kam Chi Io is an Educational and Child Psychologist with experience working across schools, specialist education provision and local authority psychology services. She currently works as a main-grade Educational Psychologist in Dorset, supporting children and young people with a wide range of learning, social, emotional and neurodevelopmental needs, and working closely with families, education professionals and wider services.

Before qualifying as an Educational Psychologist, Dr Io worked extensively in education, including supply teaching, specialist tutoring, and supporting children in mainstream, SEN and alternative provision settings. She also has experience working with looked-after children and collaborating with community social care teams, giving her a strong appreciation of the broader systems around a child.

Dr Io is committed to providing thoughtful, child-centred and evidence-based psychological input. She is particularly interested in supporting children with complex learning and neurodevelopmental needs, and is further developing her expertise through postgraduate training in Clinical Paediatric Neuropsychology.
