A Bit About Me
Dr Lucky Ganatra is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting children, young people, and families across the NHS, education, voluntary, and independent sectors. As an associate with NeuroKids, Dr Ganatra brings particular expertise in working with developmental adversity, trauma, and neurodevelopmental conditions, and is currently completing his formal qualification in Clinical Paediatric Neuropsychology. His work is informed by a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical leadership, and systemic, compassionate care.
Dr Ganatra has held senior and lead clinical roles in children’s residential care and therapeutic services, as well as delivering training, consultation, and expert witness work in the context of care proceedings and complex family dynamics. He is the founder and director of Evolving Families, a service supporting children and adults affected by developmental trauma, attachment difficulties, learning needs, and neurodivergence. His clinical approach draws on a wide range of models including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), systemic and trauma-informed frameworks, and neuropsychological assessment and formulation.
He has extensive experience conducting complex assessments for children and families—particularly those with neurodevelopmental presentations, learning disabilities, and histories of adversity or care involvement. Dr Ganatra regularly works alongside social care, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to co-produce formulations, inform care planning, and support therapeutic interventions tailored to the child’s developmental profile and lived experience.
Dr Ganatra is trained in the ADOS and ADI-R for the assessment of Autism and holds additional certifications in ADHD clinical services and neuroaffirmative approaches. He has delivered teaching at doctoral level and is a visiting lecturer on the University of Birmingham’s Clinical Psychology programme. Across all his work, Dr Ganatra is known for his reflective, relational approach and his ability to communicate complex psychological ideas in accessible and meaningful ways.
