A Bit About Me

Dr Sally Robinson is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist with extensive expertise in neuropsychological assessment, neurorehabilitation, and clinical leadership. As Director of NeuroKids, she leads an associate-based service supporting children and young people with neurological, neurodevelopmental, and neuropsychiatric conditions. Driven by her passion for advancing the field of child neuropsychology, she is committed to enhancing outcomes through collaborative working, research, and the development of evidence-based practices.

Dr Robinson worked in the NHS for over 16 year and developed a broad range of specialist neuropsychology skills through her work across diverse clinical settings. This includes extensive clinical expertise in supporting children with complex neurological conditions (e.g. brain injuries, epilepsy, stroke), neurodevelopmental difficulties (e.g. ASD, ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, stereotypies), and neuropsychiatric needs (e.g. Functional Neurological Disorder, OCD, anxiety, low mood). She has expertise in differential diagnosis, particularly in cases with potentially confounding pre-morbid conditions, and in formulating tailored rehabilitation plans to support cognitive, emotional, and behavioural recovery.

Her career includes senior leadership roles, including Clinical and Strategic Lead for Southend, Essex and Thurrock CAMHS and the Mental Health Support Teams across Essex, where she embedded the i-Thrive framework and expanded services to improve access to mental health support across schools and communities. A key area of her expertise is paediatric movement disorders, developed during her time at the Tic and Neurodevelopmental Movement (TANDeM) Service at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Here, she provided specialist interventions for children with tics, Tourette Syndrome, stereotypies, and functional neurological symptoms. Her work contributed to advancing clinical understanding and treatment approaches for movement disorders, supported by research and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Robinson has worked alongside her NHS roles in the private sector since 2016. She specialises in complex case assessments and the delivery of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, with a focus on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and systemic approaches to address co-morbid mental health concerns. She has a strong background in medico-legal work, producing neuropsychological reports for court, particularly in cases involving medical negligence, acquired brain injuries, and complex neurodevelopmental presentations. She is passionate about service development, research, and training, working collaboratively with medical, educational, and legal professionals to improve outcomes for children and young people with complex neuropsychological needs.
